Beuhla
Beuhla is a pot bellied pig that came to the rescue from animal control. Her previous owner didn’t treat her very nice. As a result, she has some vision issues. She loves scratches and will fall over and show you her belly.

Cesar
Cesar was an owner surrender from a local sheep farm. He was just a bottle baby, and smaller than the rest of the herd. We agreed to take him and let him live his life out here at the rescue. He is one of our favorites when people visit.

Esther
Esther came to the rescue as a 2 month old donkey someone had saved from auction then didn’t know what to do with her. We drove to Cape Girardeau to pick her up in my Cadillac Escalade. We scooped her up and put her in the truck. Esther had many health issues from being weaned so early from her mom. When we got her home, my mom’s driving pony broke through two fences to get to her. We put them together and the pony actually started producing milk for her. The pony mare raised her and they are still close. Esther has had some health issues due to early weaning, but is doing well now. She is best friends with Zach and keeps him calm and happy. They are adorable together.

Mary
Mary is our official barn greeter goat. She came to the rescue a tiny 2 lb baby girl with a broken leg, coccidia, and pneumonia. She is all healed up now, and is as obnoxious as she is affectionate. She even greets the UPS and Amazon delivery drivers!

Mercy
Mercy was an owner surrender due to the vet telling them she had a mammary ligament tear in her udder. She came to us and was diagnosed with cancer in the udder. We are letting her live out her life until she is no longer comfortable and then we will do the kind thing and let her pass over the rainbow bridge

Moses
Moses was an owner surrender. We promised to keep him throughout his life and provide for him. He has a hoof deformity that causes them to grow unnaturally. He will live his life out here at the rescue.

PopTart
PopTart is a potbelly pig. More info about PopTart coming soon.

Zacchaeus
Zach is a special boy. I found him at a horse auction when my girls begged me to take them in the back. There was Zach, terrified, emaciated and full of ticks. He tugged at my heart strings. Something came over me and I knew we had to take him home and bring him back to health.
My daughter and I wrestled with him for a good 15 minutes before we could get him secured to walk to the trailer (I was completely unprepared for this). I brought him home and my saint of a husband didn’t make me sleep in the barn.
After a short period of time passed one of our horses opened the barn gate and let himself and Zach out. My daughter and I went after him and it just scared him into the woods. We spent 30 days trying to catch him, and finally were successful.
Zach was a bit of a local celebrity and was even invited to the local Fall festival. He has made enough of a recovery to do animal encounters at nursing homes and he has even been to the farm store. He has really turned around into a sweet boy!
Zaccheus is our rescue mascot and ambassador and will be a permanent resident here.
